Woodinville-Carnation-Duthie Hill (61 miles, 2500 feet, 14-16 mph)

Contact Information:
John Weller [masked]
Distance: 61.00 miles
Elevation Gain: 2,500 feet
Pace: Moderate: [14-16mph]
Terrain: Hilly
Regroup: Occasional
Weather Cancels: Showers cancel
Ride Description:
A mostly rural loop into the Snoqualmie Valley. We start with a warm-up southbound on the Sammamish River Trail to 145th, then ride up and over Hollywood Hill to Redmond Ridge, Union Hill, and Carnation. Return via Duthie Hill, Beaver Lake, Marymoor, and the Sammamish River Trail. The pace is Moderate on the flats and self-paced on climbs and descents with regroups at the top/bottom.

Please be knowledgeable and equipped to handle flats or minor mechanicals. If roads are wet, bare tires are a safety issue so come with real fenders and a long mudflap in back.

There'll be a quick "eat it and beat it" food stop at Starbucks in Carnation. Bathrooms and water will be available at Redmond Ridge, Carnation, and Beaver Lake.

Flush toilet at the start. Please be ready to ride by 9:20 AM, so we can get S.M.A.R.T. and ride on time.

Route map and cue sheet are at the link on the Cascade Bicycle Club ride announcement, here: https://www.cascade.org/node/39405 If you want a cue sheet, please print and bring it with you.

Please register for the ride by clicking on the red Register Now button at the top of the Cascade announcement. Then put a checkmark in the waiver release box, complete the Emergency Contact Number, and click on Save. By doing this you will save time at the ride start.

If weather conditions meet the Showers Cancel criteria on the morning of the ride, I will post a ride cancellation here two hours prior. NOTE: Even a hint of ice along the route also will cancel. Please check before leaving for the start.
