High Latin Mass
Details
We’ve had several requests for the group to attend a Latin Mass together. Since spring is finally in full swing, we’ve decided to honor that request. Pittsburgh is blessed to have the Most Precious Blood of Jesus Parish that celebrates Mass daily in the "Extraordinary form" of the Roman Rite – that is, the Traditional Latin (or Tridentine) Mass.
The parish is staffed by priests of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest. Canon William Avis is Pastor of the parish. I know of people who drive from Steubenville to celebrate Sunday Mass at this parish.
Note: According to liturgical tradition, Holy Communion is received on the tongue, kneeling at the communion rail. Reception of Holy Communion is the sign of Divine and Ecclesial unity, so only practicing Catholics, free from mortal sin and who have observed the Eucharistic fast, may present themselves for Holy Communion. Visitors who are not of the Catholic Faith are welcome to join in prayer but may not receive Holy Communion. Those who need a low gluten Host should inform the usher as they approach the Communion rail, at the end of the distribution line for Holy Communion.
We will plan to meet at 10:30 AM for the 11:00 AM Mass. Following Mass we will plan to grab brunch together.
Please RSVP on Meetup or text Karen at (843) 384-1176. If necessary, send an email to ksakaluk1216@gmail.com to let her know you plan to attend. (Texting is the preferred method of contact.)
** NOTE: There may be more people in attendance than have RSVP'd on Meetup **
