GPS Guided Stone Mountain NC. Base Camping and Hiking

DETAILS ON THIS EVENT FORTHCOMING... PLEASE DO NOT RSVP AT THIS TIME.

I saw this event and really wanted to go.  So, I am stealing it and will host this event eventually.  Once I get GPS tracks to it and/or directions to the campground, I will allow make it hostable if someone else gets a tickle first.

This can be a one night, or two night trip.

We'll hike out onto the mountain from camp with daypacks, and return before dark. The mountain is a massive granite plume with massive vistas, waterfalls, streams, and old abandoned ruins and cabins. the hiking is moderate, with easy and more difficult variations available.

We'll set up camp, carside at the campground. There are showers, bathrooms, etc. There are backcountry camp sites available as well, so some of us may take advantage of that for a night if interested. I'm getting getting the details on those. Camping at the campground is around 17 dollars per night per site. Each site can hold several tents so we can split costs.

I'm under the impression this is not happening? Anyways, has anyone ever heard of tubing the Nolichucky during major holidays (mem day, 4th july and labor day). I was told that huge groups of people have been getting together during these holidays for years.
I'm also wondering if anyone is interested in (or visited) Midnite Hole and Mouse Creek Falls in NC? I made it to Midnite Hole, which was the clearest water I've ever seen; didn't make it to Mouse Creek Falls cause of lightening/thunder storm that was rolling in. Jackie
