Frederick "Steady Freddie" Horn on Tenor Saxophone and Flute.
Elie Wu - Keyboards
Nathan "Nate" Douglas - Drums and Vocals
Fred Horn, a saxophonist from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, began playing in junior high and high school. He quickly gained recognition, winning a school talent show and the Milwaukee Civic Music Award.
After high school, he attended North Texas State and later the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
In 1974, he moved to Berkeley, California, performing with Top 40 and R&B/funk horn bands for ten years. Since relocating to Los Angeles in 1987, Fred has led recording projects with renowned musicians like Benny Green, David Garibaldi, Rocco Prestia, and Bruce Conte (of Tower of Power), and released his jazz album "Relaxin’ in Milwaukee."
His influences include Dexter Gordon and Grover Washington, and he has performed with artists ranging from Tower of Power to Wynton Marsalis and Chick Corea.
Prepare to be "funkified" by this trio's high energy, yet smooth take on traditional jazz and pop vocal standards while infusing James Brown and Tower of Power into his original arrangements.
