Thank you Sue. I got a lift to Linlithgow from a chap (hence arriving a little late) and so ended up spending the evening with him. Unfortunately, I can't make the Ceilidh next week, as I shall be working. However, I hope to join you the following week. Everyone was really friendly and the organisers do a fantastic job. David Roy kindly gave me a lift home to Edinburgh, so all in all it was a lovely evening - A BIG thumbs up!

Thanks to everyone coming along to the 25th year of the Scotch Hop at Linlithgow Palace, for their continued support. Great friendly atmosphere for dancers and visitors of all ages. Delightful unique setting - how often do you get to dance in a Palace?

If you come direct from Livingston you might miss the first dance but you'll be able to enjoy the rest of the evening. It is a fabulous unique place.

Does anyone know if parking at the event is free?

    July 22, 2014

    • Lynda

There's a free car park next to the palace and free on street parking in the town

      July 22, 2014

    • S A.

Yes, there is a carpark at Tesco which is free between 6pm & 4am (two hour shopping carpark limit before 6pm)! There are several carparks by the Loch and one below the Palace on the road to the left, no charges apply in the evening.

    Hi

This question goes out to anyone who has been before. Can you please confirm whether or not both the indoor and outdoor venues are easily accessible via public transport from central Edinburgh, for getting to the Ceilidh and back afterwards?

    July 20, 2014

    • S A.

Hi Jane, the Low Port Centre (indoor venue) is at the West End of the High Street opposite Tesco and the Station; the Palace is a 5 minute walk along the High Street. Train times are shown on the Facebook website F:LinlithgowScotchHop approximately 15 minutes from Edinburgh and the event finishes at dusk/10pm before the last train. Car shares being organised also via Facebook site. Hope you can join us, the forecast looks brilliant.
