Join us in creating what could become the largest gathering against offshore drilling in history! Hands Across the Sand is a movement made of people of all walks of life and crosses political affiliations. This movement is not about politics; it is about protection of our coastal economies, oceans, marine wildlife, and fishing industry.
The image is powerful, the message is simple. NO to Offshore Oil Drilling, YES to Clean Energy.
$10 parking fee per carload...PLEASE CARPOOL***discounts for Brevard residents. I have registered an event for this movement at Jetty Park Beach. If you cannot afford the $10 parking, there are a few public access spots along the road right before Jetty Park entrance...stay parallel with the shore and look to your left for spots. PLEASE do not park illegally. This should be a positive experience all around!
****Let's hope for a huge event and expect delays. If parking is full, you may have to travel further down and walk the beach back toward Jetty Park....I plan to be near the pier straight out from the boardwalk
Go to the beach at 11 AM in your time zone for one hour, rain or shine.
Join hands for 15 minutes at 12:00 forming lines in the sand against oil drilling in our coastal waters.
Leave only your footprints.
Tips of the Day
1. Use only approved beach accesses and parking.
2. Create as long a line or as many lines as you wish.
3. Be courteous and respectful to those who disagree with your view.
4. Please steer clear of bird nesting areas.
5. …enjoy yourself, it’s the beach!
