Its Winter Time and everybody needs to warm up on Monday nights!

A new session of classes is beginning! New Class Cards Too!
5 classes & the 6th is Free ~ Cards available at Class

We will begin rotating guest teachers for the Monday night drum sessions. The two teachers starting the program will be Jorge "Ito" Colon and Jason Isla of Giving World Percussion(FB) ( Guest teachers will be posted on individual class meetups and on the relevant Facebook pages. (Teacher Bio's at bottom of page)

As usual this class is this class is designed to let all ability levels feel welcome and able to participate.

$5 - Drum Rental Available

We work on technique, developing a musical ear, playing rhythms for fun, and learning traditional rhythms.
The first 30 minutes of class will be used specifically for hand technique and warm-up.
Those who are new to hand percussion/djembe will find this first 30 minutes especially useful.
Rhythm Sheets are often given out at each class (please reuse them if you have them :)

More about the instructors:
Jason Isla: Rhythm junkie, history teacher, professional drum circle facilitator, and drum builder. Jason has been playing music since childhood (piano and strings orchestra) and began playing hand percussion 12 years ago while preparing to work in Southern Africa. For over three years he has been operating Giving World Percussion (, a company focused on spreading the power of percussion and building community with group music making. He is a Drum Facilitator, Performer, Drum builder, and Social Science Teacher. He brings a wealth of rhythmic information, notation, and a teacher's touch to this fun class. Current and Previous experience: Giving World Percussion, LoveJuice, Drum Magic, 3rd Sundays, GOPure, UCF Contemporary Latin Percussionist Camp, SCPS, OCPS)

Jorge "Ito" Colon: "Ito" is a lively and impressive professional musician. He has played the gambit of world rhythms and is excited to be sharing his passion for drumming with others. His technique and level of mastery is outstanding. A few years ago Jason recalls hearing a JunkieRush song at a friends house, "All I heard was the slap on that cd and I knew it had to be Ito!"
