8:30am-9:30am: Advocacy Training - Learn How to Effectively Lobby Your Representatives
9:30am-10:00am: Updates & Talking Points on Current Legislation Restricting Secular Rights
10:00am-4:00pm: Scheduled Group Lobbying Meetings with State Representatives and Senators and visiting Committee Meetings. (Lunch Break around
12:30pm - depending on meeting schedule)
3:00pm: Guided Tour of the Capitol (will last approximately 45-60 minutes.
4:30pm-5:00pm: Wrap-up Meeting (Meeting Room at Radisson)

New to Advocacy or Lobbying? Don't Worry! We'll be there with you every step of the way, and the training session will give you everything you need to know to speak confidently about your views as a secular citizen. We need YOU there to show our elected officials that secular individuals are HERE in Michigan, and we're proud to be secular citizens who Vote!
The day will begin with an Advocacy Training session and presentations by our special guests. Afterwards attendees will meet with legislators in teams depending on appointment schedules. We will take care of arranging meetings with the district representatives of attendees, as well as those in leadership roles in the House and Senate and those serving on Committees dealing with current legislative priorities. A guided Capitol Tour and a location for attendees to meet for lunch are being arranged.

The Training Session will be held on the 2nd Floor of the Radisson at the Capitol (location info above). Meetings with Legislators will take place at the Capitol Building, the Senate office Building or the House office Building (all within 2 blocks of each other - so wear your walking shoes!).
We will also arrange Carpools for those who are interested in sharing the ride from around the state.
