Subject: [CFI-Austin] 2nd Annual Texas Free Thought Convention in San Antonio on November 14th

Is anyone else planning to attend the 2nd Annual Texas Free Thought Convention in San Antonio on the 14th

Tickets are $25, Students pay $20, and children under 12 are free.

Here?s what the website (http://www.texasfreethoughtconvention.com/) has to say:

The Texas Freethought Convention Inc, will be holding its second annual event November 14, 2009  in San Antonio, TX. It will be held at the Alzafar Shrine, on the access road of 1604. It?s location is close to Blanco/1604 and Stoneoak Pkwy/1604. It will run from 12-8pm.

This event is for individuals, families, groups, and organizations who are atheists, agnostics, freethinkers, humanists, skeptics, brights, doubters, non-theists, etc. There will be activities for the kids, and we?ll also have local and national speakers, live music, food, beverages, local and national organizations representing for the event. We?ll also have a proper debate on a topic germane to what is important to the secular community.

We have confirmed that Dr. Victor J. Stenger will present for his soon to be released work ?The New Atheism?. Some of you may know of his book; ?God, the Failed Hypothesis?, his latest to come out,?Quantum Gods?, among many others. Copies of his books will be available for purchase at the event and he will autograph them after his presentation.

I may have room for 2 more, if anyone wants to carpool.  I can arrange to meet riders in south Austin around 10am.
