Celebrate the season secularly! The CFI Western New York Winter Solstice Celebration is free for all—CFI members, non-members, and students. This is a family-friendly event and all are welcome, including children. Dinner begins at 6:30 PM, with free tours of the CFI library and facility offered starting at 5:30 PM.
The event will be catered by Zetti’s, and we ask that everyone bring an appetizer or dessert to share. Please be sure to RSVP by Monday, December 10 at noon so we have an accurate head count.
Friends of Night People is a secular charity that serves people experiencing homelessness and living in poverty in the city of Buffalo. As part of our Winter Solstice Celebration, until December 14, CFI will be collecting clothing and personal care items as donations for Friends of Night People. Donations can be dropped off at CFI on December 14, or if you would like to drop something off before then you can contact Sarah Kaiser ([masked]) to arrange a time.
Donation Requests: This winter FONP is in need of coats, boots, hoodies, socks, gloves and hats. Basically anything warm. Items best suited to donate include jeans, khaki/cargo style pants, t-shirts, hoodies, and jackets. Socks and Underwear are always accepted. Blankets and linens are accepted and helpful to those we serve. Personal care items always accepted include soaps, shampoo, deodorant, shavers, toothbrush and toothpaste, diapers, tampons, and lotion.
