• What we'll do Introduction to Mushroom Foraging: Learn A Year's Worth of Wild Edible Mushrooms in One Day $30 Sat. June 30,[masked]-noon Durham, NC Want to learn to safely identify morels, black trumpets, chanterelles and other edible mushrooms? Will also cover how to preserve and/or cook them. Will share info about books, websites, tools, etc. Learn an entire year's worth of a dozen edible, easy to identify mushrooms presented in one sitting. About me: * Learned my trade from foragers in 7 states and 6 countries. * Harvested a 33-pound mushroom. * Licensed to sell mushrooms in three states. * Sold mushrooms to downtown chefs. * Have taught chefs and organic farmers how to forage. * I write the foraging column for Paleo magazine. About the program: Slide show of professional photos, display of tools and field guides, handout with resources, plenty of Q&A time, plenty of parking, but limited seating. We'll be meeting in a wine import warehouse in Durham for the slideshow (sorry, no samples).
