We are an active social health and fitness group that's dedicated to improving the overall fitness, nutrition, health, and wellness of individuals, families, and communities through group fitness training, walking and running groups, activity leagues, health workshops, and fitness retreats.
Our mission is to provide a positive atmosphere and tools that will allow people of all fitness levels and health backgrounds the ability to support each other while achieving their individual health and fitness goals.
Who should join?
If your goal is to lose weight, drop a few inches, tone your body, become more health conscious, exercise more, meet new health/fitness friends, or just looking for fun activities to participate in please join our health and wellness family.
We have a positive, family-oriented atmosphere and promote being social and networking with other individuals. The journey to great overall health alone can be challenging but together we all can help each other along the way.
Fitness & Recreation
In an effort to promote health and wellness this group participates in charity walks and races, volleyball, kickball, Group Fitness Training, Youth Fitness & Activities, collaborate with other meetup groups and much much more.
Any member can suggest a meetup but there are a few requirements to host an event. Event hosts represent our group and we want to make sure guidelines are met to ensure the integrity of the group is met. First, you must be an active member who has attended at least 3 meetup events. The event must be approved before it's opened for other members to participate. Further hosting details will be given once the event has been approved.
Our only requirements are to have a positive attitude, be respectful of everyone in there health/fitness journey's, be willing to participate in activities, and to HAVE FUN and enjoy the experiences!
My name is Jayden and I'm excited about being the organizer of this group. I'm a former collegiate athlete who was once at the top of my game yet after college my health declined. I began to eat very unhealthily, I was no longer living an active lifestyle, and I found myself lacking motivation. As a result, I had poor health and was charted by doctors in the obese category 75lbs heavier, very unhealthy and out of shape.
I tried "Get Slim Quick" gimmicks such as high protein diets, no-carb diets, pills, and liquid diets all to have them give me temporary weight loss with double the weight gain. I was disgusted with myself! I lacked confidence because the person my body portrayed didn't represent who I felt I really was. After going through a few personal struggles and setbacks, I felt I was at the lowest point in my life! This was the beginning of my transformation process.
I began to educate myself on how I let myself get so unhealthy and the main culprit was my nutrition. I ate horribly by overly consuming processed foods, sweets, and liquid calories. With this new found knowledge I decided to rededicate my life to great health by making a lifestyle change. I adopted a mostly plant-based diet and began to become active again. With my focus being on great overall health rather than weight loss, I began to transform. I lost 55lbs in a 6 month time period and to date, I'm down 140lbs.
I did this journey alone but it would have been much easier if I had a support system of individuals who had similar interest and could use each other for motivation. That's why I decided to create this group. I want to inspire people to let everyone know it's not impossible to get back healthy and into shape. Now it's time for you to turn the chapter in your life and start writing your story. Let's share our experiences and accomplish our health/fitness goals together!
