Mapping Emotions to the Body

Ever wonder where your feelings "go" when you ignore them or what happens when you hold on to them for too long? This workshop explores how emotions and physiology are connected according to Yoga philosophy and Ayurveda. We'll talk about each chakra, its associated nerve plexus, the feelings that affect these regions/organs, what type of conditions they can manifest as, and whether these manifestations are instances of overactivity (stress, tension, inflammation, and anxiety) or deficiency (fatigue, disconnection, and under-functioning). By connecting these patterns to the body’s natural stress responses—such as the Sympathetic nervous system and Parasympathetic nervous system—we may begin to take steps in the direction of increased balance and feeling safer in our own lives.
