This group was formed as a social get together for people who are interested in learning more about being a Vegan or Vegetarian, have been one for years or who just want to see what Vegans/Vegetarians eat. It is a very fun group that shares great Vegan places to eat, recipes, activism and friendship.

Here are a few helpful terms to get you started:

Veganism/ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English)ˈ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English#Key)v (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English#Key)iː (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English#Key)ɡ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English#Key)ən (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English#Key)ɪ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English#Key)z (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English#Key)əm (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English#Key)/ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA_for_English) is the practice of abstaining from the use of animal products (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_product), particularly in diet, as well as following an associated philosophy that rejects the commodity (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commodity) status of sentient (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sentiocentrism) animals. A follower of veganism is known as a vegan.

Dietary vegans (http://www.vrg.org/nutshell/vegan.htm)(or strict vegetarians (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegetarianism)) refrain from consuming animal products, not only meat but, in contrast to ovo-lacto vegetarians (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ovo-lacto_vegetarianism), also eggs, dairy products and other animal-derived substances.

Ethical vegans (http://www.ourhenhouse.org/2013/02/the-ethical-arguments-against-ethical-veganism/) are those who not only follow a vegan diet, but extend the vegan philosophy into other areas of their lives, and oppose the use of animals or animal products for any purpose.

Environmental veganism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environmental_vegetarianism), refers to the avoidance of animal products on the premise that the harvesting or industrial farming of animals is environmentally damaging and unsustainable (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sustainability).
