Indivisible Aurora is hosting Aurora's first ever Pride Parade! BQAC has elected to sponsor, and now we would love to have YOU (yes, you) join us to march and celebrate.
Lineup starts at 10am, and the parade begins at noon, so any time between 10am and noon is okay to come!
-Where should I be?
The parade begins at South River and West Benton Street in Aurora. Line-up is is between Benton Street and North Avenue, so we will be along that route. A map can be found here: https://www.aurorapride.org/parade-details/
-What should I bring?
Yourself! Feel free to dress up, make signs, whatever you wish! Please note that there are some rules regarding language and distribution of items - please see the participant guide linked at the bottom for more information.
-Is there a cost?
Not at all! However, you can feel free to donate to Indivisible Aurora (https://www.gofundme.com/aurorapride2018) or BQAC (http://bqachicago.org/donate/) if you would like to support future events like this.
-How can I get there?
The Metra train runs from Union Station to Aurora on June 17, with trains scheduled to arrive at approximately 10am and noon. Feel free to use your own transportation or rideshare, as well.
-Do I need to RSVP?
We would love to have an approximate head count beforehand, but if you just show up, that's totally okay.
-I don't have sign-making materials, will there be any?
Yes! We will provide some poster paper and materials if you wish to make a sign the day of.
