Native Foods Cafe (Belmont and maybe Wicker Park)

  • Needs a date

  • Native Foods Cafe

1023 West Belmont Ave., Chicago, IL (map)

  • Cobbled together from the Ravelry "Should we go here?" thread. Native Foods has all vegan food and some beer/wine options. You can get junky food like fries and cupcakes or healthy food like salads. They have some big tables, and they’re totally rah-rah into community, so they might dig it if we became regulars. They have big tables and some decent light. The one on Belmont is right by the train, and there is a Wicker Park location that is pretty transportation-friendly. You can take a look at the menu at http://www.nativefood....

I just talked to Andrea, the manager at the Belmont Native Foods. She's excited and ready for a gaggle of knitters to come on down and hang out and eat! Her only requirements are that we do this on a "slower" night (not Thursday to Sunday) and give her 24 hours of notice (I have her contact info.). Tuesday sounded great to her. She thought we could sit at the big "community table," but she was open to us pushing tables together, etc. Yay! A new location! What does everyone think?
