Happy October everyone!

The chilly weather is here and we have a LOT of events coming up to keep us distracted. Not all are on the calendar yet, but many in the works!

Within the next week:
*Check out Attack of the Giant Leeches with the fabulous MST3K folks on Saturday 10/3. Thank you Mindy!
*Make sure to check out The Chicago Fandom Meetup Mashup at Mystic Celt on Monday 10/5. AnimeChicago and The LOTR meetups are now joining us as well!
*Our monthly First Tuesday dinner gathering with a six year history will be held @ El Cid on Tuesday 10/6. A bit more mellow atmosphere, and terrific Margaritas! The best place to meet new people and explore our geeky interests.

We are also considering screening both Where The Wild Things Are & Zombieland on Sunday 10/4, possibly with a break in between for those who may not want to shift gears so dramatically! (Break = food and/or drink in our world!) If you are interested, please reply to this email. I'm thinking WTWTA should be open to be kid-friendly, but don't expect to be able to take them to Zombieland! I am not responsible for their nightmares.. George Romero gave me enough of my own!

Get the details and RSVP to these and lots of other great events at!

Plan ahead for later in the month:
Please support our wonderful Ashlee(slightly) on Oct. 22nd at the Diagon Alley CD release event with Dreary Inferi!

FrightFest is always a definite for October! Personally I like to go on a Friday so that it's less crowded than weekend days and stays open later. Who is up for playing hooky and getting spooky on the 23rd? Use one of those vacation days that seem to pile up, call in 'sick', heck, call in dead and dress as a Zombie! You'll know how after The Chicagoland Fandom Meetup Mashup! If you *must* work you can always meet us up there after. We get there close to opening and always stay 'till they close. We will have carpooling. Please help with that if you can.

We're always working on adding new and interesting events. Please contact either myself or Rob if you have events you'd like to host or see added to the calendar.

Find the discussion for all of this and more on the Message Board.

You can always get in touch with me through the "Contact Organizer" link on Meetup:

Stay shiny!
