Underwater Pumpkin Carving-Haigh Quarry

All of you are invited to take part in an annual fall classic at Haigh Quarry: The 2023 Underwater Pumpkin Carving Dive in sponsorship with the Illinois Council of Skin and Scuba Divers. Come out and enjoy a day of diving, one of which will be with a pumpkin for you to carve while underwater. Show off your great diving skills and artistic talents during this fun event. The day will include: - Diving - Enjoying good food - Carving pumpkins while underwater. Also, join us as we hope to see if the winners from the past years' competition will repeat their award winning efforts! People should finish carving their pumpkins and have them on the presentation table by 1:00.

Pumpkins are provided. Make sure to bring extra weights. We usually clean our pumpkin above water. There will be prizes for pumpkin carving skills in several categories. The Council will provide grilled item and condiments, but please feel free to bring a dish to share if you want.

This is a free event, but as always, there is a $25 entrance fee for the Quarry.
