e mail addresses and phone numbers, Easter and local liveaboard

Hi Everyone!

First, thanks to everyone last night for a fun and productive meeting! We are so happy to be a part of the group and honored to work with all of you!

Secondly, I meant to ask everyone last night for their email addresses, phone numbers and contact information. I know that a lot of you have ipads and such so you can access the full meetup site but when I only have phone access in the field, I have no way to send out messages or notes to anyone from the meetup mobile app. It is very limited. If we had a list of everyone's information, we would be able to include this in our phone contacts for off site contact or responses. We would also be able to send checks or documents because we would have everyone's information on file. I would really appreciate it if you all could send us your information so that we are all accessible to each other. THANKS!!

Thirdly, we were kicking around a lot of dates last night and I know the last weekend of March was brought up for a weekend event. I just wanted to make everyone aware that the last weekend in March IS Easter weekend. Easter is the last day of March this year...the we may wish to review those plans due to people celebrating with their families. Just thought I would let everyone know for an fyi before final plans are solidified.

Finally, I have been in contact with Captain Rick at Adventure Charter Boats. He seems to be very flexible but booking up very quickly, I have obtained all of the information regarding scheduling a "liveaboard" charter for up to 6 people. I am just awaiting his final quotes for us in pricing. I will put together details for us once we have these final figures. As this is a small, max number of persons event, and if Rob and I attend, we would be looking for 4 additional members to join us. We are basically deciding on June and colder water with better visibility, July (which is most difficult and  he believes will be booked if we do not get a date secured before Ghostships) or August with warmer water and reduced visibility by history. I shot him off an e mail after our discussion today and he will present me with the figures asap. I will then forward you all the details so that we can set a date. Tentatively, I was considering June 29th weekend since we have a charter on the 8th, but I believe we now also have a picnic on that weekend as well?! Given the limited openings for this charter, I was also just wondering if we have enough interest to fill this with the organizers alone? Is anyone interested in doing this before we would put this out to the general group members?

In general, he has advised that we can do 2 or 3 dives per day. My recommendation would be 3. We would remain sleeping on the boat (3 bedrooms with 2 double beds each) while docked in Port Washington overnight. 3 dives on the way to Port Washington. 2 in Milwaukee and 1 in Port Washington and on the return, 1 in Port Washington and 2 on the way back through Milwaukee.

We would be looking at the Prince Wilhem, The Milwaukee Car Ferry and the Niagara with the Northerner on the return at 130', the Car Ferry again as this is a 334' long ship with plenty to see and our last dive with several to choose from. The Appomatox which may have been the largest Davison ever built, the Willie again or several other shallower dives in the area. This at least gives you a taste of what we would experience for now.

The boat has a full kitchen and bbq so we can bring our own groceries, have the lunches catered or a combination of the two? He did recommend that dinner we would probably want to do in Port Washington as all the restaurants and bars are about 50' from the harbor dock on the main road through town.

Mai Tai is a 1995 Jeanneau Lagoon 37 TPI catamaran. She has 3 staterooms(bedrooms), 2 heads(bathrooms), 3 showers, a well appointed galley, a beautiful salon and a spacious cockpit. The interior is oiled teak and the floors are teak and holley. This is one of only 2 in the Wisconsin area...the other in Muskegon.

If you are interested, please take a look at the website...  and let me know if there is interest. I will be speaking to him about funds and deposits and the like in the next few days. He is in the off season and works interior construction as his second job so he did not have access to his paperwork and rates.

Thanks again to everyone for having us and we look forward to a busy, safe and exciting dive year for all of us!!
