Family Hiking @ Moraine Hills State Park and Brunch (McHenry)

Bring the family out for a hike at one of the best parks in IL! We will be doing the Lake Defiance trail which is approximately 3.5 miles. It should take us about 2.5hours with stops. It’s a paved and gravel trail. My kid will bring her scooter which I encourage you to do with your kids if you’d like.

After hiking, around 11:30-12 we will head to Windhill Pancake Parlor for brunch, which is along the river in downtown Mchenry. The address is: 3307 W Elm St, Mchenry. They’ve got a lot of great breakfast and brunch options, along with $6.50 kid meals.
