Re: [homebirth-65] EMERGENT HELP NEEDED - Mom in Need

TAKE CASTOR OIL! Once you get to the due date that is... see if you can convince your Dr to let you go just ONE DAY "late". I know it's not the ideal option, but at least you won't be on pitocin or be given a cesarean for no good reason. It tastes disgusting but my baby shot out like a bullet when I did it. I was three days past my due date and just took one ounce of castor oil- she was born 4 hours later. I think you take one ounce every 4 hours and walk around to get labor going- you should double check that though. My body was cleary ready to have the baby but I think it can take some time for it to work. You should know that it will give you diarrhea & bad gas, but that usually happens right around delivery time anyway
Other than that I have to wonder why this dr is being so adamant about this. Is there a risk to the baby or to yourself if the pregnancy continues? What's the deal?
Whatever you do, try to relax. If you have trusted this Dr so far then he must have some good points.
Everything will be ok, just don't try to deliver the baby yourself!
