6 mile hike in a forest with a lake in the NW suburbs, 8.3 and 1.5 options

I am hosting a hike in a different meetup group for this event.

Due to Forest Preserve District of Cook County (FPDCC) policy, I am unable to post the hike to this group. In this group FPDCC closely monitors and enforces the number of people that rsvp.

FPDCC will dispatch police if rsvp exceeds 25 for a hiking event. Please understand that most people do not change their rsvp on the day of the event.

I'm ok with people not changing their rsvp. However, it is an issue with FPDCC who does not understand that many do not show up day of the event.
As an example, 50 people may RSVP and FPDCC will dispatch police even if only 30 show up day of. This happens because groups of 25+ hikers must purchase a $300.00 permit in order to hike which I will not pay for.
