"Soon to Be Pretentious Writers Club"
Meet up and write, based on an ever-changing theme! Come join us every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month from 1-3 PM at the Harold Washington Library. We're on the 5th floor by the wooden tables to your left.
But! This writers group will be different. It's part scavenger hunt, part mystery and part creativity. The plan: At the HW Library, each writer will search throughout the heaps of shelves to find a text of some sort. Just one that calls out to them for whatever reason. Once found, they will bring it back to the group and each writer will then create a piece of writing based on their text, whatever the subject is. The text is your unpredictable starting point. We'll then share (if so desired) and give comments. I'm not a professional writer, but have always wanted to be and hope to make that dream come true. Whether you are earning money from writing or not, we welcome you. Bring a pen and paper, laptop, or tablet, whatever your preferred writing tools are and join the fun.
Thank you to previous organizers for your service in putting these events together.
