A lovely walk in the Chilterns National Landscape area and on the NT's list covering beautiful wooded hillsides, farmland and Hampden valley. Starting from Whiteleaf Hill , a large area of chalk grassland and woodland atop the Chilterns escarpment and location of the Neolithic burial mound we descend down the woods to the Plough at Cadsden before heading out to the beautiful Grangelands and Pulpit Hill Nature Reserve, Chequers Knap and the Cradle Footpath before heading towards the country home of the Prime Minister at Chequers. A short lunch stopover (at the farm shop not Chequers!) before we continue towards Little Hampden and head back to the car park.

Distance 7 miles - 4.5hrs. Total ascent 792ft. Moderate with steep sections in places so bring your walking poles in case you need them.

We shall have a short lunch break so pls. bring a packed lunch,snacks and water.
