A trip to explore the Malvern Hills from the town of Great Malvern. The Malvern Hills traverse the counties of Worcestershire, Herefordshire and northern Gloucestershire. The area is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Friday night there will be a short guided history walk outside Great Malvern Station at 6pm for just an hour followed by optional pub crawl..
Saturday April 8th (10miles/16km) Circular, approx.
A circular hike exploring Millennium Hill (327m), Hangman’s Hill, Gullet Wood and Midsummer Hill (209m) as well as open countryside south of Colwall Station.
Meet outside Colwall Rail Station (take the 9.45am from Great Malvern getting to Colwall for 9.50am) Return train ticket £3.50 return. The hike will start outside Colwall Rail Station at 10am (Colwall station.(Lockyear Close,Colwall,Worcestershire, WR13 6RN).
Sunday April 9th (10miles/16km) Circular, approx.
A circular hike exploring Worcestershire Beacon (425m), North Hill (397m) and woodland, fields and commons to the North close to Crumpton Hill. Meet outside Great Malvern Priory (10.00am for hike to start at 10.15am). Church St, Malvern WR14 2AY.
Monday April 10th (7.5miles/12km) Circular, approx.
A short hike exploring Malvern Common, Perseverance Hill (325m), Jubilee Hill (327m), Pinnacle Hill (345m) and Black Hill (308m).
Meet outside Rogers Theatre from 10.00am for the hike to start at 10.15am.
HIKES FOR THIS WEEKEND MAY BE DEMANDING WITH UNDULATING ROUGH TERRAIN.
The above hikes may be altered closer to the day.
A watsapp group will be set up before the weekend.
Hike Cost/Meetup/organizer: £39 (organizer hike fee) by bank transfer (please contact the organizer) spaces will be limited. Transport and accommodation is up for everyone to arrange themselves. There is a train service from Great Malvern.
Walking Safety
Walking is a great way to keep fit & generally very safe; however it does contain an element of risk. Before go-ing on any of these walks you need to be reasonably fit & be prepared to be responsible for your own safety. You should wear appropriate clothing & shoes with sufficient grip suitable for hiking. Warm & wet weather clothing and carry sufficient food & water.
