Dia de los Muertos Parade

    Viva la Vida Fest celebrating the 29th annual día de los muertos. Saturday, October, 20, 2012 (festival is 2–10 pm at 5th & Congress)

    Procession gathers at Plaza Saltillo at 5th & Comal in East Austin at 5 pm, and departs for Mexic–Arte museum at 6 pm.

    Procession route is approx. 1 mile and lasts for 1 hour.

    Street parking available near Plaza Saltillo.

    Chris, the Procession was cancelled this year. They did not get the permissions they needed so all events will be held inside the museum. :( They are still encouraging everyone to attend the Festival in costume, but there won't be a procession from the Plaza to the Museum. Major bummer!

    Costumes are not required but encouraged. Standard day of the dead theme. Skeletons, angels and devils or your unique Austin twist.
