Dear Jack's Angels supporters,
Once again, we must ask for your help. On May 24th, we took in five adult Chihuahuas from a puppymill. We are not only in need of foster/adoptive homes for these dogs, we need donations to help offset the costs of their care.  In addition to needing monetary donations, we also are in great need of quality dog food, bedding (used towels, sheets, and blankets are great), puppy pads, and cleaning products. These pups are the first to enjoy our newly designed small dog rehabilitation room.
Among them is a sweetie we've named Valentina for the little heart shaped patch on her forehead. She's the charmer of bunch, following her caregivers around, occasionally providing a gentle nudge for attention. Valentina may be very small but she's dealing with some big health issues. During her health evaluation today (5/30/09), it was determined that she needs extensive dental work, has defects or injuries to her front legs, and has mammary tumors that must be removed. As if that weren't bad enough, Valentina has fluid build up in her uterus, which could lead to a life-threatening condition (pyometra). There were no visible puppies on the radiograph so either she's not pregnant (*paws crossed*) or the puppies are not calcified enough to appear. Our veterinarian has recommended an ultrasound on Monday.
If you are able to help with a donation (no matter how small), please call our veterinarian's office to make a credit card payment directly toward Jack's Angels account.
