Medicated Wines and the Nourishing Life Tradition of Chinese Medicine
The search for good health and long life has been tied to the practice of Chinese medicine from the very beginning of its practice. This search, known as “Nourishing Life” practices (Yang Sheng) includes a wide variety of practices, including the ingestion of special herbs and formulas, often in the form of medicated wines. This talk will introduce the Nourishing Life tradition in Chinese medicine and explain how medicated wines are made and used. We will go over special medicated wine formulas, including formerly secret formulas for longevity. Tasting to be included.
