  • Essential Oils in Practice: Their Relationship to Acupuncture Points and the Shen

With Marc J. Gian LAc, LMT

Aromatherapy is quickly becoming one of the most popular adjunct modalities used by acupuncturists and massage therapists. This can be attributed to their direct relationship to the Shen and Acupuncture Points. Essential oils mirror the effects of acupuncture or manual stimulation of the meridian. For this reason essential oils provide a supportive and accurate enhancement to an acupuncture or massage session.

This lecture covers approaching treatment with the use of states through identifying their roots in the Emotions, Habits and Personal Choices. Students will learn how to support their clients with the use of:

    • Simple, practical  clinical applications

    • The value of Aromatherapy in Acupuncture practice (open portals, transform dampness, difficult cases)

    • Relationship between Essential Oils and Acupuncture Points & Meridians

    • Relationships  between Essential Oils and 5 Spirits

    • Basic Classifications Systems of Essential Oils

    • Essential Oils Discussed: Lavender, Tea Tree, Rosemary. Palmarosa, Geranium, Vetiver, Frankinsence and more!

Marc J. Gian LAc, LMT, is a sought after practitioner and teacher. He has developed an in-depth course series for professionals on the clinical applications of Essential Oils, and addressing illness through Mind-Body healing.

Since 2007, he has been a clinical supervisor at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine's student clinic, as well as the designer and teacher of the Essential Oils curriculum for the college.  Along with frequent teaching engagements, Marc maintains a private practice in New York City with a focus on addressing the mental and emotional issues associated with illness.

He is also a co-founder of the Meridian Biologix line of professional Essential Oils, with blends based on TCM pattern diagnosis.
