Announcing a new Meetup for The Santa Cruz Classical Music, Theater, Dance Meetup Group!

What: New Music Works: Music for Linda

When: December 6,[masked]:30 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: New Music Works, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, is dedicated to presenting music of our time in concert. Their annual concert series offers works by living composers, with an emphasis on Santa Cruz area composers, while also including masterworks of the 20th and 21st centuries. On December 6 the Ariose Singers -- http://ariosesingers.org -- join the New Music Works ensemble to perform works by Philip Collins, Sid Robinovitch, Thomas Ades, Lou Harrison, Frank Zappa and Igor Stravinsky. (Some of us enjoyed hearing the Ariose Singers in the wonderful Baroque Obama concert in September.) The December 6 performance takes place at beautiful Calvary Church in downtown Santa Cruz. Purchase your $20 ticket in advance from the New Music Works website: http://www.newmusicworks.org

We will meet at 5:45 at Shogun Restaurant, 1123 Pacific Avenue, Santa Cruz. Shogun is a great little Japanese restaurant, serving sushi, teriyaki, tempura, etc. At about 7:00 we?ll walk over to Calvary Church for the concert. If you can?t join us for dinner, look for us in the chapel at 7:15. I will be wearing a red beret.
