Invitation to the "Sakura picnic"

I want to inform to the meet-up member about  an annual "Sakura Picnic" that is organized by JANO (Japanese Association of Northeast Ohio)  The picnic will be a great way to mingle with Japanese who lives in the area, learn about Japanese cultures, enjoy foods & etc.  Please note that any participants to the picnic needs to bring a dish that will be enough for 7-8 people!!  Hope to see many of you there!! Please check the flier by clicking "more" on the screen top then "file"  and open D.2014 salura picnic.  If anyone know how to attach the flier on the site, please let me know!!

Also, due to large number of people attending this picnic, I'd like to suggest everyone to bring your own chair or picnic sheet.

I see that a lot of people from this meetup group will be attending. Keep in mind that there is limited picnic table seating available, and lots of local Japanese expats will also be there, so if possible, I'd advise that people bring their own chairs or picnic sheets/blankets just in case.

Nice suggestion. I hope you are ready for some soccer! We can't lose this year like we did last year.

Hello! I am so excited to attend this event. I haven't been to a meeting in a very long while! (sorry) Question. What should I bring? I have been watching several Japanese cooking shows on my smartphone and have some delicious looking recipes.. What would you like me to make? First, I took a cooking class on sushi. Do I bring homemade sushi or should I make Katsu Sando -Tonkatsu Sandwiches (pork)http://www.nhk.or.jp/dwc/recipes/detail/58.html or I could make a Japanese omelet and or kikka root vegetables (daikon, carrot and turnip) http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/english/tv/kitchen/archives20109.html I have some bonito flakes and some hajiki seaweed. Yes. I've been to Part to Shop.... :)

IF you have suggestions I would love to try it. :)

Hi Jennie! Nice recipes!! Katsu sand looks yummy! I haven't had Katsu sand for more than a decade! Lol The dish doesn't have to be Japanese, whatever you are good at making will be fine. Because of the large number of people attend the picnic, main dish is always in need. Thanks and look forward to see you over there.
