You may have noticed the presentation from our recent meeting has been posted, at the end I added links to vendors which offer parts, components, jumper wires, etc, for the Raspberry Pi. There are obviously more vendors, but I've had good luck with the sites listed.

Getting Started with Java® SE Embedded on the Raspberry Pi
Since our meeting, Java 7 U6 has been released. Downloads are available for Java SE Embedded on ARM (soft-float) and OpenJDK, so it can be installed on the Raspberry Pi. In addition, a new soft-float version of the 'Wheezy' distribution is now available, it supports the new JDK releases above.
Working on more examples and will post the source soon. Let me know if you have any questions.
