Hi Joe,

So, is this study session, on Saturday, preparation for the October AI course?

Thanks,

Edgar Zotov

I hadn't heard of him, but his papers, books and awards look pretty impressive. His book also covers genetic algorithms:
http://books.google.com/books/about/Fundamentals_of_the_new_artificial_intel.html?id=lei-Zt8UGSQC
The Eureqa system uses a combo of genetic algos and ML I believe.

I added wiki pages for the AI and ML course exercises. I put my answer for AI question 3.1 in the discussion section. This page can be used to compare and think about our answers as we create them before discussing them in person each week. I would suggest though that formulating your own answers before looking at the answers of others on the discussion page is a more beneficial way to study. I also created a couple matrix review questions for the first Khan video.

My reason for putting info on the wiki is not only to help the group, but to help myself, because studies have shown that the more ways a person works with material, the more likely he is to retain it. Thus by watching videos, reading the material, posting questions and answers on the wiki and discussing the material each week, ones chances for getting a solid and retained A on the 2 upcoming courses is maximized.

Joe

Hi Joe,

What are your thoughts of CSU Professor (AI Researcher and book writer) Toshinori Munakata?

Thanks,

Edgar Zotov
