If you have an interest in and a concern for the ecosystem of the world we live in, join us at the
2013 Wild & Scenic Film Festival (http://www.cmnh.org/site/ClassesandPrograms/SpecialEvents/Film.aspx).
This festival shows a variety of environmentally-themed films ranging from 2 to 44 minutes in length. The films use humor and heart to show how ordinary human beings who care about the environment can make extraordinary differences in the world, sometimes by doing the simplest things.
Included topics are: a glimpse into the strange and magical world under the ocean, an exotic journey to a small Buddhist kingdom high in the Himalayan mountains, and the longest film - about a tragic kayaking expedition into the heart of Africa.
Tickets: $15 for nonmembers, $10 for members, $5 for students
NOTE: As there is a possibility that tickets could sell out, it would be wise to register in advance, either online here (http://www.cmnh.org/product/SE005/FilmFest.aspx) or by calling the museum at[masked].
Parking: $8 in the museum's lot. Or if you're lucky and find a metered spot nearby, it's free after 6.
