MENU (http://www.mitalian.com/menu-dinner-m-italian/) Knife Skills follows the launch of Shaker Square's haute cuisine restaurant Edwins, a place staffed by men and women recently released from prison. It won the Audience Award for Best Short Documentary at the Traverse City Film Festival, and the Best Local Documentary award when it made its Ohio premier last year at the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival. Now, the film has made a short list for the Oscars. It's among the 10 finalists from the more than 77 eligible entries in the Documentary Shorts category. Of the 10 finalists, only five films will make the ballot. Those nominations will be announced on Tuesday, Jan. 23. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ FIRST TIME MOVIEGOERS Visit the First Time Moviegoers page: http://www.meetup.com/clevelandfilm/pages/Note_to_First_Time_Moviegoers/ MEMBER DUES The $5.00 yearly fee (or $1.50 for one movie) goes toward charges incurred for using the MeetUp website. What we're about

Public Group

Declare your independence from the multiplexes and see an independent, foreign classic, documentary or any thought provoking movie. We meet at landmarks like the Cedar Lee, Cinematheque, Art Museum, or a university and work in dinner at a locally owned restaurant either before or afterward. Perhaps the best part is walking to a local pub and engaging others on the film's true meaning.

Cost to attend: $1.50 per movie or $5 for the year. Your first movie with the group is free. Fees are waived for active assistant organizers of this group or for organizers of other meetups who are funding another meetup site.
