An Italian Triple Feature - Fellini/De Sica/Etna

Hi Movie Friends – Just a quick note to call your attention to a very special double feature scheduled for Saturday, December 10th at Cinémathèque.  And, it’s a twofer – two films for the price of one!

First, at 5 p.m., we’ll be screening a very funny and relatively short (53 minutes) film by one of my favorite directors – Federico Fellini - Le tentazioni del dottor Antonio (The Temptation of Dr. Antonio). Often Fellini films are a bit too long for our television-molded attention span; not so this time.

Second, at around 6 p.m. after a brief intermission, we’ll view Matrimonio all'italiana (Marriage Italian Style) by Vittorio De Sica who directed so many memorable films including the wonderful Bicycle Thief.

After we’ll dine at the popular Etna in Little Italy.   We've had many great dinners here in the past.  You can check out the menu by using the link on the event post.  Etna is named for the beautiful and powerful volcano on the Straight of Messina on the tip of Sicily's eastern coast.

Also, we have invited the Italian Language Group to join with us. Many members of that group are native Italian speakers so we can expect some valuable insight into Italian culture and customs of the period.

Hope you can join us for an Italian Triple Feature!

p.s. – you are certainly welcome to come for just the last film and possibly dinner too!
