Yes, H. Res. 888 is yucky. Here is a link to its full text:

This resolution is indeed packed with distortions & selective out-of-context quotes & such. Its very premise is the big lie.

It seems the "religious right" is becoming more & more desperate! They know that a new enlightenment is just around the corner- what they don't seem to realize is that H. Res. 888 is just the sort of thing that will help to bring it about.

They still have way too much influence, unfortunately.

This is disturbing.
I haven't been able to view the full text of HR 888 yet. As soon as I am able to do that, I will take action.
My congressperson is Stephanie Tubbs Jones- for anyone else in her district, her office's email address is:

Hot on the heels of resolution 847 comes the much more frightening resolution 888: "Affirming the rich spiritual and religious history of our Nation's founding and subsequent history and expressing support for designation of the first week in May as `American Religious History Week' for the appreciation of and education on America's history of religious faith." http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c110:H.RES.888:

The resolution is chock full of revisionist history lies and misrepresentations and definitely needs to be countered. It is clear that the christian right is in full-force attack mode these days, and those of us who are trying to keep the wall solid need to step up and let our representatives know that  this is ridiculous and needs to be stopped.
