Hi everyone,

Today, we welcome the seven newest Cleveland Freethinkers- Christopher James Ryan, David, Tom Savoca, Michael Lancaster, Upendra, Ben,

...and our 200th member, Joe Vasas!!!

George Bernard Shaw

The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one. The happiness of credulity is a cheap and dangerous quality.
-- George Bernard Shaw, Androcles and the Lion, Preface (1916)

 A few reminders...

Since the Cleveland Freethinkers is a roundtable, any member is welcome to join in on our group email discussion threads (simply reply to any group message), or to start their own thread, on any topic they wish (within a reasonable sphere). The group mailing list address is
[address removed]

Members who have chosen not to be on the mailing list can stay tuned by clicking on the "Mailing List" tab on our main meetup page. All attachments are automatically removed here, unfortunately.

A gentle warning... our group mailing list may be almost silent for a week or two... then a barrage of emails might descend upon your inbox!
We choose to keep the mailing list open for its spontenaity & intimacy... it's one of the factors that leads to true friendships being forged in this meetup group. Also, we learn an awful lot from each other...

You can take yourself off (or put yourself back on) the CFT mailing list, temporarily or permanently, by signing in to meetup and going to the "membership & communications" tab in your account settings.

Also, if there's a particular message thread that doesn't interest you... or makes you mad... there's always the DELETE button!

But don't let me scare you! This group has excellent discussions- you may miss a lot of good stuff if you're not on the mailing list!

We also have a message board on the CFT meetup site- same parameters as mailing list apply. This might be a good place to start a discussion that'll have lots & lots of responses.

Be sure to check out the CLEVELAND FREETHINKERS BLOG, and add a comment or two while you're at it!

We have a Facebook page: (you must have a Facebook account beforehand)
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=22176895236

There are several polls on our meetup site- fun & anonymous! (I am especially interested in the "What Label?" poll).

For anyone who's interested, we've created a Cleveland Freethinkers group on Atheist Nexus. I've been neglecting this.

Lastly, we have a google forum (not used much as of yet). I've had to tweak the settings- because of spambots, anyone who joins must be made a "manager" before they can post. So if you decide to join, make sure your group name is somewhat recognizable.

Anyone who joins the google group can post blog-type pages, files, and discussion threads there. There's plenty of space for pages- you can put an entire manifesto here if you want. Join up with any email address. This will be the default re-gathering place, in the event that our meetup group is ever hacked or deleted for any reason.
