10 billion light years--looking at a star the blew its top appr. 10 billion years ago!And when the scope went up, it didn't work! The mirror had been ground incorrectly. Required a mission by the Orbiter Discovery and an array of optics corrections that fixed it!btw, spinoffs from this correction mission include improvements in semi-conductor technology and micro-endoscopes that refine medical diagnosis.Tim Campbell
