We start the year with a New Year's resolution: to build better Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery pipelines. Two sessions will help you with tips and tricks for building CI/CD pipelines. In the end, you should be able to build adaptable and reusable pipelines for all your projects.

This presentation invites you to explore the challenges of CI/CD pipeline development and discover practical approaches. Together we will look at how pipelines can be broken down into reusable blocks, centralised and versioned regardless of the platform used (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, etc.). No more trial and error - let's build CI/CD pipelines the right way!

Deep Diving Gitlab CI Components by Andreas Grub (Expert Software Engineer, QAware GmbH)

This talk explores how to leverage GitLab CI components to design, build, and manage reusable, scalable, and complex automation pipelines. By extending GitLab CI components with a Dockerfile build mechanism, you can seamlessly integrate custom helpers written in languages like Bash or Go. The session delves into best practices for handling workflow rules and designing intuitive and robust component interfaces, empowering platform engineers to streamline their CI/CD processes and manage pipeline complexity effectively.
