Setup an Efficient Performance Test Process & Regression Testing

=== Agenda =====
6:00pm - 6:20pm, Pizza & social
6:20pm - 6:30pm, Introduction
6:30pm - 7:30pm, How to Apply Agile/Scrum Methodology to Improve Performance Test Process, by Emily Ren

Methodology in Performance Testing is not as clear and mature as Functional Testing in many companies. Performance Testing is a very challenging job. It is very different from functional testing and can be highly frustrating. Much of performance testing is an uphill battle and requires stellar cooperation and coordination from all involved. It is essential for the performance testing team and the project team to work together and set up a well thought out performance testing process with proper methodology.

This presentation will discuss the common mistakes in Performance Test processes, and how to apply Agile/Scrum methodology for the team to work effectively to optimize the outcome of performance testing and tuning activities.

7:40pm -8:40pm, 30 years regression testing: past, present, and future by Jean Hartmann from Microsoft.

In this talk, I will discuss the evolution of regression testing strategies through the decades, starting out as a research topic in the early 1980’s, followed by development and early deployment by industry R&D labs in the 1990’s to adoption by software companies in the 21st century. Each decade is described in terms of the challenges faced by regression testing, projects are highlighted in which these strategies are applied and the future of these techniques is explored.

8:40pm -9:00pm, lucky draw&mingle.

    I am interested in any insights on performance testing as it relates to mobile devices. It is useful to measure both the client's performance as well it's interface to server resources.
