Hi Carlos,

Thanks for the feedback and help...
Here is the dilemma,
1) I have no clues on web development, my background is “Fashion”
2) Finding a web developer is not easy – too basic.
3) Wix- is the only platform I could use drag and drop, copy and paste methods....HTML and CSS, study the function and find it user friendly to some extent
4) Cuil, godaddy, iweb, etc. ...their template is too basic , not my taste, I tried to position my product better than the competition
5) You are correct- I am looking for a long term, if the business grows, I do may have a problem.....
6) My design product line is seasonal plus , I have several patents in continuation in part that will be submitted sometime this year.
7) I want to work on it now before I actually publish it online...still under constructions,
8) That is why I am so eager to learn coding .....
9) In the future I would like to do virtual and hologram to my site. As an example , I can scan my garment, rotate 360 degrees, etc.

How come you know so  much about this?

I will look at magenta
Thanks,
Doo Aquino

Hi Doo,

Have you thought about using a framework like http://www.magentocommerce.com/ or wordpress.org as they offer more granular control over product management.

Also I am familiar with wix and I definitely think its strong suit is for those in creative mediums who require portfolios or business/product showcase more akin to an EPK.

At the end of the day, I would not recommend 'rolling your own' cms/ecom platform since that can be a huge capital expense but you should take a look at what's on the market and try to pick the right tool for the job.

Also you should consider how you expect your business to grow and how long you expect this solution to work, as most technology has a shelf-life.

Hope this helps!
~C

PS - cool last name =)

Hey All,

We had a pretty good thread today where members shared some really good resources to help us get started with learning how to code. I made a post on our blog so we can access the list easily.

If anyone has any additional resources or if I missed anything let me know and I'll update the list.

Thanks to everyone that sent these in!

- Jamal
