Hello HeatherB,
?
I am looking forward to meeting you at one of the coffee meetups (or perhaps one of the other meetups?). We can talk about ALS, or whatever you like. ALS was an amazing spiritual journey for my husband that I would like to share with you. I am on vacation in the Maritimes right now until June 24. See you after then?

Did you know that some of the most famous Presidents of the USA had lost a parent and quite possibly, it gave them the strength to be great leaders?

Barbara,

My apologies for intruding on this conversation. I noted in your response to Elizabeth that your husband recently passed away from ALS. First, let me offer my condolences to you. My father, who just turned 58 in April, was diagnosed with ALS in October of last year. It seems surreal that where before, I didn't know of anyone who had it or had loved ones with it - but now, around every corner is someone else. I just wanted to say that I understand some of your heartbreak.
?
I have only attended one meetup due to some other commitments, but hope to start attending regularly soon.

Hi Elizabeth,

It is probably, an ancestor, as all the Tougas's are related to Guillaume Tougard, the original Tougas to come from Normandy France in the 1600's. My husband came from Ste Anne, Manitoba and his parents were Heloise Baril and Laurent-Auguste Tougas. I believe they migrated from Ste Anne de Sabrevois in Quebec. I would be interested in meeting with you at one of the coffee meetups. I am presently in Halifax visiting my late husband's niece and her husband?for two weeks. Then I will visit my son, Damien Tougas,?and his family in Lewiston, Maine. I will be returning on June 24. Then I will be attending the meetups.
?
My husband recently passed away on March 21st of this year of ALS. He was 68 years old, 1 week away from his 69th birthday. We were married for 43 years. I am broken-hearted at my loss. He was 'the love of my life'. I have not yet had the courage to live at home since his passing. When I return, I will live at home.
You are welcome to phone me when I am again in my home. My phone number is[masked]-4693.
?
I would be interested in finding out about my father's history. I have much information about my mother, but very little about my father, Zoltan Sipos. He was born in Fulek, Hungary, which I believe is Czechoslovakia now. His mother was Barbara Molnar and his father was a Hungarian version of Stefan Sipos. My father was in the Canadian army when he met my mother Aleida Bleijs (Bleys) in Holland during the war. He married my mother in Holland and I was born there. My mother and my oldest?half-brother, Jean-Baptist, arrived in Halifax in October 1946 (I was only a few weeks old at the time). My niece will take me to Pier 21 this week to see if I can find some information on the arrival.
?
Looking forward to meeting with you.

Hi,
?
I noticed your name on a meet-up notice. Are you originally from Edmonton? A 1915 map of the west end has the name Tougas on a 1/4 section. Could that be one of your ancestors?

If I was in Edmonton, I would be saying,'YES, count me in!', but I am still on the east coast, so I am sad to say, 'Sorry, NO, wish I was there! Maybe Next Time?' Hope you all have a wonderful time.
