  • Board games and coffee!

    The Burrow

Come and have a chill time over all sorts of board games (e.g. Codenames, Hanabi, and Saboteur)! New players are welcome; I'm always happy to teach people how to play. Feel free to bring your own favourite games, too! The Burrow has great breakfasts and coffees as well. Find us at one of the large tables in the backyard, or on the bottom floor—we'll almost certainly be the only ones with board games out! If you want to come later, some of us will probably keep playing board games pretty much all day.

  • Board games and coffee... on a mountaintop :)

Soldiers Settlers Trail - Start Point

*** UPDATED*** "The Summit Track will be closed until Saturday 31 August 2019." Therefore, We've changed the meeting place Beerburrum trailhead at 12 pm. Hi friends, Would you like to join us for board games and coffee with a spectacular view at Beerburrum trailhead? We will meet at Beerburrum trailhead at 12 pm. Distance: 3.5km return Difficulty: Class 4 out of 6 Time: Allow about 1hrs return (and extra time for board games and coffee, of course!) Details: The track from Beerburrum trailhead winds through wet eucalypt forest, up into drier open forest. Near the Yul-yan-man trailhead the track becomes a very steep, paved pathway, leading to a fire tower that offers good views. Mount Beerburrum's fire tower is used to detect and manage fires throughout the surrounding parks and forests. Mount Beerburrum is 280m above sea level. Caution: The track passes close to cliff edges—supervise children closely. Take extra care around the summit area in wet weather—rocks become very slippery. Walk carefully to avoid dislodging rocks—they might hit walkers or climbers below you. *** What to Bring *** Suitable walking shoes, warm clothes, a flask of hot drink, plenty of water, a small lunch & snacks, a hat, sunscreen, and maybe one of your own board games (chat below or in the Signal group re. what people are bringing and/or want to play!) *** How to get there *** Carpooling is a good option. Currently we have around 3 cars worth of space; please comment below if you're interested in joining in. For a map of the walking track, see: https://parks.des.qld.gov.au/parks/glass-house-mountains/pdf/ghmtns-walks-map.pdf Follow the link below for a Google Street View of the meeting spot: https://goo.gl/maps/1HBMKATa4WkiVMed8 NOTE: Closer to the date I will send an email to all attendees with updates on the weather. NOTE 2: There is a Signal messaging group that some of us are using to discuss the event. Please contact Soko or Dimitri if you want to join in!
