CF9 excel odbc drives

I am migrating our servers from CF8 to CF9. I actually have a new Windows 2008 64 bit server on which I install CF902. The server this is replacing has 3 Excel DBs, I copied the Excel files to the new server, created system DSN which uses "Driver do Microsoft Excel(*.xls) with C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe. I go into CF admin and create a new data source, give a name which is same as the system DSN, The dropdown select box next to ODBC DSN is empty, nothing, like CF does not recognize the newly created system DSN I created. I rebooted the server to no avail.

Any ideas on getting this working or work arounds appreciated.

Well, this does not answer my question but we are ditching the xls data sources. That is one way to resolve an issue :)

I needed to do this awhile back. My solution was to keep a 32bit server running to talk odbc. I then called into that server from my 64bit CF server. You need to consider your licensing with this solution.

A few other ideas:
- use cfspreadsheet
- MySQL did have a access migration kit
