Join us as Dayton Defense hosts Chris Garrett, AFMC's senior engineer in Open Mission System architecting for USAF weapon systems. Chris will speak on AFLCMC's leadership in Open Architectures for Agile Acquisition. His team's work is impacting how the USAF modifies Air Force legacy weapon systems and develops future designs, in order to facilitate rapid configuration changes in response to today/tomorrow's near-peer threats.
Speaker Bio: Chris Garrett, Technical Advisor for Architectures, AFLCMC/EZAC
Chris spent over 27 years active duty in the Air Force working in the areas of electronic warfare, test, space, and aircraft sustainment where he spent 3 years at Robins AFB in the C-17 group. He finished his career as the Deputy Director for Engineering and Technical Management at Air Force Materiel Command. As Deputy Director, Chris focused on three areas – System of Systems Analysis, Open Systems Architecture, and Strategic Planning. In his current job, Chris is working in the engineering home office at the Life Cycle Management Center where he is focusing on two major tasks. First, as the Technical Advisor for the Architecture Group in EZAC, he is working on developing a government reference architecture for avionics systems. Also, as the former lead for the CROWS LOA4, he has been developing the resilient Embedded GPS/INS (R-EGI) open standard for navigation systems since Oct 2016.
