Thanks, Lisa.  All the issues you mention are really important, and I don't think most people think about them--I sometimes forget myself, and I am consciously working toward vegan eating.  There's just no getting around the fact that eating animals or animal products, by definition, means abuse, regardless of the marketing tactics of a seller or the excuse that people are always going to eat ____ (fill in the animal or animal product).  I appreciate your response.
