: A profound loss for the planet- Marti Kheel passes on

From: Lisa S.

I am profoundly saddened to report that the great animal rights and eco feminist activist, author, mentor and friend of over 20 years, Marti Kheel, has passed on.
Marti was one of my first teachers when I embraced veganism in my early 20's. She showed me how veganism and feminism were directly linked. Her writings on eco feminism and veganism have been hugely impactful for many long time  activists. She was instrumental in so many early animal rights strategies and happenings, and  she was one of the few  female voices in a mostly white, male dominated animal rights  movement. She was a remarkable woman; humble, brilliant, and  so kind. Marti was pioneering on so many fronts. I can't say enough about this amazing soul.
This is such a profound loss for the planet, the animals, all of us.

Please read about Marti and her brilliant and vital contribution to the liberation of all oppressed beings.

Rest in peace beautiful, Marti.--
You so deserve it.

By shedding light on the root causes of social problems, ecofeminism can help us to deepen our capacity for empathy for all living beings, thereby helping to bring about a world of peace and respect for all living beings. Marti Kheel
