Vegan meal train for High Park Fire volunteers (from Wolf Sanctuary)

Hi, Boulder Friends:

Here's a great, vegan way to help victims of the High Park Fire!

Fort Vegan members have been assisting High Park Fire Wolf Sanctuary volunteers with daily vegan meals, and we'd like to invite you all to help also. :-) We've set up a meal train site so that folks can volunteer to drop off vegan snacks, desserts, breads, main dishes, salads, etc. for these volunteers in Loveland. Shelley, our Fort Vegan co-organizer, is housing 11 of the evacuated wolves and wolf-dogs at her house near Devil's Backbone (in west Loveland.) See below for her email, and for a link to the meal train site. We don't have anyone signed up from Saturday on, eek!

Thanks for all you do,
Lori Nitzel

Thank you everyone who are bringing food for the volunteers!  You are feeding the wonderful volunteers.  I heard several say last night that they are thinking about becoming vegan after having such wonderful tasty meals.  The marinated baked tofu was a HUGE hit last night and people kept grabbing the container from one another to munch and make sandwiches.

Pat Craig and crew of the Wild Animal Sanctuary and a crew from WOLF are going back up today to evacuate the remaining 17 wolf/wolf-dogs.  14 will go to Pat's Sanctuary and the other 3 will come with the others.  Rajan will be so happy to have his mate Kiki with him.

I saw pictures they took from when they were escorted into the sanctuary yesterday.  The fire came into Kiki's enclosure and stopped right next to dry wood.  And one of the structures was destroyed as you enter WOLF's property.  There is/was good energy and forces protecting the animals - it is truly a miracle that they have been spared.

Your food was packed up today to feed all of the volunteers who will be assisting in evacuating the remaining animals.

Thank you so much you guys.  It would be impossible to feed everyone with the amount of work that is needed in the evacuation and care of the animals.

You are WONDERFUL!

Love - Shelley and Bailey

Let me follow Shelley's heartening email up with the meal train link - we need more folks to volunteer to make vegan food! We have nobody signed up from Saturday on. This is a great way to help the folks who are helping animals, and a wonderful way to show non-vegans how delicious vegan food can be.

**If you need someone to take your food down to Shelley's, please email me and we'll figure out a way to get it there!

Thank you!
Lori
