  • This is being released on March 8th so allowing for any delays the meetup for this movie will be on Monday 11th March.

I'm sure you've all seen the posters around London, and I think this film is going to be a delightful dark horse

Location will ideally be Shaftesbury Ave but this is subject to change depending on where it is showing. The time will be evening but I will update as soon as I know.

    Movie synopsis

Charm and whimsy infuse this story of an ageing man who forms a friendship with his robot housekeeper. You've seen unusual buddy movies on-screen before - but never quite like this! Set in the near future, this gentle film focuses on an ex-jewel thief named Frank (Frank Langella) - a crotchety old codger who nevertheless has a twinkle in his eye for local librarian Jennifer (Susan Sarandon). Frank's grown-up kids are concerned that he can no longer look after himself - so they buy him a walking, talking robot to help out with the household chores. The old man initially detests the idea - but eventually becomes attached to his new companion. However, the lure of his criminal past soon becomes too much, and Frank enlists his robotic pal to assist with a daring robbery! A heart-warming story filtered through the perspective of a bizarre friendship, Robot and Frank is a superb showcase for the talents of screen veteran Langella.
